DA-BAR opened its 2025 Second Semester Performance Commitment and Review Assessment and 2026 Target Setting Workshop on October 28, 2025, at the E.R. Ponce Hall, RDMIC Building, Quezon City.

Spearheaded by the Planning and Monitoring Unit, the three-day activity serves to review the performance and accomplishments of each division for the second half of 2025 and align strategic priorities and targets for 2026.

During his address, OIC-Director Joell H. Lales emphasized the significance of the workshop, noting that it will serve as both a guide and a reflection point for determining the bureau’s next steps. The results of the evaluation will form the foundation of the bureau’s strategic plan, helping define and strengthen its long-term and short-term goals.

“Assessments like this activity should always be part of the bureau’s learning curve as it will help in improving office operations,” OIC-Assistant Director Raymond Patrick L. Cabrera added.

He further highlighted that with the assessment, the divisions will be able to identify which targets were accomplished and what areas need improvement. Cabrera further stated that setting the following year’s target is important for recalibrating existing targets for the updating of the strategic plan.

This workshop serves as a venue to review DA-BAR's physical and financial performance, gaps in implementation, and significant achievements of each division and programs. Participants were presented their accomplishments for the said period, and performance indicators and targets for 2026, for review and endorsement by the Performance Management Team.

Through this workshop, DA-BAR reaffirms and shows its continued commitment to improving efficiency, demonstrate accountability, and refocus its operations in support of the DA's research for development priorities.
