To reinforce efficiency, transparency, and accountability in office operations, the DA-BAR conducted a training-workshop, Optimizing Records and Data Handling for Government Operations, on October 21, 2025 in Quezon City.
The administrative and technical staff from various BAR divisions learned the principles of records management, and effective filing and retrieval systems. They were introduced to key topics such as the records life cycle, classification and indexing techniques, retention and disposition schedules, guided by RA 9470 (National Archives of the Philippines Act of 2007) and the RA 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012). The participants also engaged in group activities involving the practical classification and organization of sample records based on function, retention period, and adherence to government protocols.
Facilitated by Daryl Kurt G. Norial of the Knowledge Management and Information Systems Division, the session underscored the importance of records management in promoting operational efficiency, protecting institutional data, and supporting informed decision-making.
“Organized records build organized minds—and organized minds build a stronger public service,” Norial said, echoing the bureau’s commitment to effective governance.
