
This year’s National Research Symposium (NRS) received 85 paper entries under the following categories: Technology Generation, Technology Adaptation and Verification, and Policy and Socio-Economics Research. The DA-BAR conducted a preliminary screening and deliberation on September 18, 2025 in Diliman, Quezon City.
With the majority of submissions coming from DA bureaus and attached agencies, the Technology Generation-Crops, Fisheries/Aquaculture, Livestock/Poultry received 41 entries. Panel of evaluators were Dr. Pompe C. Sta. Cruz, Dr. Leny C. Galvez, Ms. Antonieta J. Arceo, Dr. Rommel C. Sulabo, and Dr. Frolan A. Aya. Meanwhile, the 25 entries under the Technology Adaptation and Verification-Crops, Fisheries/Aquaculture, Livestock/Poultry were deliberated by Dr. Jonar I. Yago, Dr. Edralina P. Serrano, Dr. Vivencio R. Mamaril, Dr. Jonathan N. Nayga, and Mr. Len R. Garces. Under the Policy and Socio-Economics Research, Ms. Virginia L. Agcopra, Dr. Jaine C. Reyes, Ms. Jaymee A. Cabangbang, Mr. Normito R. Zapata, Jr., and Dr. Abraham J. Manalo screened 14 paper entries.
Conducted annually, the DA-BAR’s NRS gives due recognition to researchers and scientists as they present significant breakthroughs and achievements in agriculture and fisheries research for development as well as technologies that are readily available for adoption, dissemination, and towards commercialization.
Official finalists from the different DA units and agencies, state universities and colleges, and other institutions under the DA’s National Agriculture and Fisheries R&D System shall present their papers on October 8-9, 2025.
