"Created through the High Value Crops Development Act of 1995, the High Value Crops Development Program aims to facilitate and harmonize the development intervention in strategic production areas, deliver appropriate services, promote access to local and international market, and ensure proactive management actions on demand and supply situation.
The program supports DA-BAR in the strategic management, coordination, and development breakthroughs in high value crops research for development programs and activities. The bureau coordinates with DA regional field offices, state universities and colleges, and other implementing agencies to develop and promote package of technologies for various priority high value commodities."
