Onsite Monitoring of BAR-funded projects under Rice R4D program

The DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research conducted an onsite monitoring of projects supported under the Rice Research for Development (R4D) Program on 14-17 November 2023 in CALABARZON. 

The activity aimed to assess the projects’ accomplishments in relation to their respective objectives and targets. In particular, it looked into identifying significant research outputs for dissemination and promotion, as well as issues, and provided recommendations on project implementation. 

R4D projects monitored included Assessment of digital tools for data-driven decision making on rice-based agri-food systems in the Philippines or D4AgPH; Linking enhanced decision support system and enabling rice policies (a component); Development of innovation system for climate smart pest management in rice; and Demand-driven product development and deployment in target market segments (2023) or OneRicePH 2023 (a component) being implemented by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI); rice black bug project of Philippine Rice Research Institute-Los Baños; and OneRicePH 2023 (a component) of the University of the Philippines Los Baños.  

This activity was spearheaded by the bureau's R4D focals from the Program Monitoring, Evaluation and Linkaging Division and the Knowledge Management and Information Systems Division.
