Mindanao-wide Forum on Upland Sustainable Agri-Forestry Development Program

DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research director Junel B. Soriano participates in the ongoing Mindanao-wide Forum on Upland Sustainable Agri-Forestry Development (USAD) Program on 8-10 November 2023 at Provincial Capitol Complex, Agusan Del Sur. 

With the theme, USAD: Empowering Communities through Good Governance and Science-based Development Approach, the event provides a venue to showcase the USAD programs, projects, and activities, as well as its operations, processes, and best practices. 

USAD Convergence Program is the centerpiece program of the provincial local government of Agusan Del Sur. It is geared towards conservation of resources and uplifting the lives of impoverished farmers in the upland villages by providing farmer-enrollees with farm inputs, farm machinery and equipment, and training on the latest and appropriate farming technologies.  

Agusan del Sur Governor Santiago Cane Jr. led the program in collaboration with USAD prime mover and Agusan del Sur Rep. Eddiebong Plaza. 14 provincial agricultural offices in Mindanao attended the forum with the aim of also adopting the USAD in their respective LGUs. Comment end
