Dr. Custer C. Deocaris and Dr. Malona V. Alinsug, senior science research specialists of DOST-Philippine Nuclear Research Institute, visited the DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) on February 9, 2023 to seek information on the DA’s adlay research for development (R4D) program and to present their concepts and ideas on further development of the crop commodity.

DA-BAR OIC-director Joell H. Lales, together with Research Program Development Division head Raymond Patrick L. Cabrera and adlay R4D program focal person Apolonia Mendoza, met with them and shared the accomplishments, ongoing initiatives, and plans for the said program.

Highlighted in the meeting are the potential directions of adlay for the expansion of product commercialization, nutritional bioavailability, and food functionalities in support to building up the crop’s information resource and its branding.
