Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) vice president for Research, Extension, and Training Dr. Geraldine C. Sanchez along with technical staff paid a courtesy visit to DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) OIC-director Joell H. Lales on 24 November 2022 at the Office of the Director, RDMIC Building, Quezon City.

The short meeting was highlighted by a discussion on the bureau’s new research for development agenda which zeroes in on a more inclusive and holistic approach towards creating a more impactful R4D, especially in areas of high poverty and low agricultural productivity areas of the country. Discussions as regards the role that relatively big universities such as the PSAU will play in the implementation of the new R4D approach and strategy was also discussed.

Also attended by DA-BAR Research Program and Development Division (RPDD) acting head Raymond Patrick L. Cabrera, RPDD-Project Packaging and Evaluation Section head Alvin Fontanil, and Executive Assistant and International R4D Relations Unit head Mara Shyn Valdeabella-Pacunana, the meeting also touched on the Agricultural Competitiveness Enhancement Fund R4D Grant and other R4D programs which the bureau coordinates. ###
