DA-Ilocos Region, through the Ilocos Norte Research and Experiment Center-Dingras Station, spearheaded the launching of the Yamang Lupa: Sustainable Community-Based Action R4DE for Livelihood, Uplifting, and Prosperity (YL:SCALE UP) project in Ilocos Norte on 31 August 2022 at the Municipal Civic Center of Dingras.

Part of the said DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research-led program, the activity was attended by officials and representatives from the DA research station and provincial and municipal government units; farmer facilitators; and agricultural extension workers who are working collaboratively in implementing the project.

The YL: SCALE UP program establishes innovative and sustainable agriculture through the enhanced Yamang Lupa program approaches and strategies in the said  municipalities in line with the goal of harnessing the adapted science-led soil revival strategies and management practices. This is geared toward boosting farmer productivity and strengthening coping mechanisms amidst climate anomalies. The said program is expected to cover increased hectares for a total of 20,000 hectares of rainfed areas for rice and high value vegetables.
