DA-Eastern Visayas and DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research held the  launching of the Yamang Lupa: Sustainable Community-Based Action R4DE for Livelihood, Uplifting, and Prosperity (YL:SCALE UP) Program on 15 July 2022 at the Northeastern Leyte Agri Pinoy Training Center, Javier, Leyte.

Key officials and representatives from both agencies together the local government units, lead farmer technicians, and farmer facilitators from Javier and Abuyog, Leyte also signified their commitment and support to the DA-BAR funded project.

The YL: SCALE UP program establishes innovative and sustainable agriculture through the enhanced Yamang Lupa  program approaches and strategies in thesaid  municipalities in line with the goal of harnessing the adapted science-led soil revival strategies and management practices. This is geared toward boosting farmer productivity and strengthening coping mechanisms amidst climate anomalies. The said program is expected to cover increased hectares for a total of 20,000 hectares of rainfed areas for rice and high value vegetables.###
