ManCom members visit R4D Projects in Magalang, Pampanga

DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) key officials visited sites of various research for development (R4D) projects implemented by Pampanga State Agricultural University and the DA-Central Luzon on 6 April 2022 in Magalang, Pampanga.

Project leaders of the research teams discussed the accomplishments and status of the supported projects on 1) Bio-economic and risk analysis of invasive aquatic species (IAS) in the aquaculture areas of Pampanga, 2) Technology Business Incubator for agriculture and fishery commodities of PSAU, 3) DNA analysis for accurate diagnosis of emerging deadly viruses among agri-fisheries of Central Luzon, 4) Genebank establishment conservation and evaluation of native and indigenousfruit trees, and 5) Determination of the potential of organic pelleted poultry feeds in the market and production of selected ingredients in preparation pelleted to poultry feed formulation. These are R4D projects implemented by PSAU. DA-Central Luzon Integrated Agricultural Research Center for its part is currently working on the production, commercialization, and upscaling of vegetable, purple yam, and mushroom technologies in selected IP communities in Nueva Ecija. 

Toward intensifying the implementation of various agri-fisheries R4D projects, the bureau conducts project visits and discussions with implementing and collaborating agencies to ensure efficient delivery of outputs and outcomes as well as discuss the sustainability plans.
