DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) director Dr. Junel Soriano signed a memorandum of agreement with DA-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-Cagayan Valley director Dr. Angel Encarnacion on the research for development (R4D) project titled, “Evaluation of Community-based Cage Culture of Siganids (Siganus spp) in Divilacan, Isabela” on 25 March 2022.

Guided by DA’s goal of Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita, the collaborative project with the municipal local government unit of Divilacan, Isabela aims to provide production and post-harvest technologies resulting to a sustainable livelihood support and supplementary income to marginalized fisherfolk along the coastal communities in the municipality. The intervention is based on the community action plan developed through a participatory rural appraisal. Initial sites identified for the project are located  at Brgy. Dimasalansan, Divilacan. ###
