Testimonies from Lamut, Ifugao

Villafuerte Camat, Jr., a farmer cooperator on fishpond tilapia from Lamut, Ifugao, engaged in the adoption of improved fish production technology because of its promising potential in increasing the income of fish farmers by 20%; hence, improving their productivity.

As one of the 40 fisherfolk using the Fisherfolk Field School (FFS) approach for the Community-based Participatory Action Research (CPAR) project “Fishpond Tilapia Production and Processing Project,” Camat learned more about CPAR technology packaging– with highlights on pond preparation through chicken manure, stocking of fingerlings per square meter, feeds and feeding of tilapia in fishponds for higher yield, and harvesting of fish products.
