Inauguration of DA-Cagayan Valley Facilities and Distribution of Bio N and CFA to Isabela Farmers

Led by Agriculture Secretary William Dar, the DA-Cagayan Valley and DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) inaugurated research for development (R4D) facilities at the Cagayan Valley Research Center (CVRC) in Ilagan, Isabela on 21 May 2022. These are the seed storage facilities, greenhouse nursery, and the Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurial Assistance Development Office.

The upgraded R4D facilities, funded under the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act or also known as the Bayanihan 2 and DA-BAR regular funds, showcases the use of green technologies, renewable energies, as well as the developed various farm production and food product technologies towards strengthening the center’s programs on technology development, transfer, delivery and promotion to its stakeholders in the Cagayan Valley region.

Representing DA-BAR, Research Program Development Division head Raymond Patrick Cabrera witnessed the events. He joined DA Assistant Secretary for Strategic Communications Noel Reyes and DA-Cagayan Valley officials led by regional executive director Narciso Edillo, regional technical director for Research and Regulations Rose Mary Aquino, research division chief Lovelyn Gaspar, CVRC chief Rolando Pedro, and the CVRC staff present.

Also, distribution of Bio N and Compost Fungus Activator to corn and rice farmers in Isabela was held after the inauguration.
