A team from the DA-National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI)-Knowledge Management Resource Center, led by head librarian John Paul Combalicer, conducted a benchmarking activity on the DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research’s (BAR) scientific literature systems (SLS) on 25 October 2023.

Combalicer reported that the NFRDI library provides a repository of all fisheries research and scientific information in the country and is currently establishing its physical and digital library system to provide convenient access to scientific information to its clients. He also presented the status of the NFRDI library or elibrary and discussed the need for ICT integration for its operations. 

Meanwhile, DA-BAR shared that the Knowledge Management and Information Systems Division-Scientific Literature Systems Section is currently working on digitizing its library collections and is starting to populate its elibrary system. 

DA-BAR acknowledges benchmarking as an effective tool to improve the quality of its library services as it allows mutual opportunities for collaboration and sharing best practices and innovative ideas and technologies. (### Maria Elena M Garces)
