2023 1st sem accomplishments assessed

To assess the performance of the divisions, units, and sections of DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) opposite the success indicators and targets for this year’s first semester, the Planning and Monitoring Unit convened management committee, performance management team (PMT), and report officers to a two-day review on 18-19 September 2023 in Diliman, Quezon City.

Along with the accomplishments and challenges encountered in the past semester, plans and timelines for the second semester were also reported.

Hindi lang po kasi ito puro numerong pinagbabangga-bangga. You have targets [and] accomplishments, and see how it matches the rating scale…In this particular exercise, we are highlighting the importance of everyone,” said DA-BAR assistant director and PMT chair Joell H. Lales.

Lales further explained that all accomplishments and contributions, regardless of the amount and whether it is technical or administrative, collectively play a significant part to continuously strengthen the research for development system toward a technology-empowered sector contributing to inclusive growth.

DA-BAR director Junel B. Soriano also presented the accomplishments the bureau has collectively achieved during his first 100 days as director. Among those mentioned were the conduct of the National Agriculture and Fishery Technology Exhibition and the soft launch of the National Agriculture and Fisheries Research for Development and Extension Agenda 2023-28 held in the previous month. (### Rena S.
