36th DA-BAR anniversary awards outstanding employees; employee association takes oath of office

As the DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) celebrates its 36th founding anniversary, it recognized exemplary personnel who have achieved significant milestones, shown competency, and promoted efficiency in the workplace in 2022 in a simple awarding ceremony held on 15 August 2023 in Central Luzon State University, Science City of Munoz, Nueva Ecija. 

 Guided by the DA-BAR Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence and the Recognizing Contract of Service Staff for Excellent Service and Satisfaction, the awards given were in the following categories: loyalty; outstanding permanent employees; outstanding COS; and special awards.

 Granted to permanent employees who have dedicated a significant number of years of service to the bureau, loyalty award was given to Melissa Resma and Elec Yadao, who have been in the bureau for 35 years. Roberto Quing, Jr. and Ricardo Bernardo also received the same for their 20 years of service.

 The bureau also recognized personnel,  both permanent and COS, who have displayed commendable performance during the past year. Program Development Division leads, Raymond Patrick Cabrera, Cynthia Remedios De Guia, and Marjorie Mosende were awarded the outstanding division head, outstanding assistant division head, and section head, respectively. Melody Memita of the Records Unit-Administrative and Finance Division (AFD) received the outstanding unit head award while Glacelle Alyne Malinao was given the outstanding technical support staff award.

 Likewise, the bureau recognized outstanding technical support staff: Chrystel Venus Fonseca, Apolonia Mendoza, and Chiqui Padullon, and outstanding administrative support staff: Peter John Cagula, Aiko Monique Del Mundo, and Elmer Gumban. 

 Special awards were also given to Abelardo de Jesus, Diosdado Dulay, Marc Lawrence Francisco, Andrew Chris Lazaro, Augusto Lesaca, and Renzo Miguel Siao for having the highest attendance. Malinao, Francisco, Arnel Geli, and Maria Ruby Lumongsod were also acknowledged for having the highest attendance to flag ceremonies. Christopher Lazaro, Rhaine Borres, and Nestor Nebreja were awarded as best performing drivers. 

 Also held as part of the day’s program was the oathtaking of newly-elected officers of the Association of Bureau of Agricultural Research Employees (ABARE).  

Slated to serve from 2023-2025, the new set of officers consists of Memita of AFD as president, Juan Nikolas Paller of the Program Monitoring and Evaluation Division as vice president for Internal Affairs, Mara Shyn Valdeabella-Pacunana of the Knowledge Management and Information Systems (KMISD) as vice president for External Affairs,  Lyn Pardilla of KMISD as secretary, Ryan Joseph Abrigo of KMISD as assistant secretary, Ma. Eloisa Aquino of KMISD as Treasurer, Vincent Visitacion of AFD as business manager, Jocel Anne Yamson of KMISD as auditor, and Gretel Rivera of AFD as Press Relations Officer. 

The ABARE is a duly-registered and -recognized association with a certificate of registration issued by the Department of Labor and Employment and the Civil Service Commission.
