DA-BAR ranks as 2nd top performer in HVCDP

DA-BAR was hailed as second top performer in the bureaus and attached agencies category for the implementation of projects under the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) for 2022. The award was given during the HVCDP Year-end Assessment in Tagaytay City on 10 February 2023. 

Dr. Gerald Glenn F. Panganiban, concurrent directors of the HVCDP and the National Urban and Peri Urban programs, and of the Bureau of Plant Industry led the awarding of certificates.

Receiving the award on behalf of OIC-director Joell Lales were DA-BAR Project Packaging and Evaluation Section head Alvin Fontanil and bureau’s HVCDP focal person Candice Guilaran and planning officer Matthew Janssen Ty.

Under the same category, the DA-Agricultural Training Institute was acknowledged as top performer while DA-Bureau of Plant Industry, and DA-Bureau of Soil and Water Management ranked as third and fourth, respectively.

DA-BAR provides support to high value crops research for development projects particularly on enhancing crop productivity, postharvest technologies, pest and disease management in support of urban agriculture and technology commercialization. (### Angelo N. Padura)
