DA-BAR, as part of its anniversary activities, partnered with the DA-Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Services and Philippine Blood Center, to host the Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita and blood donation drive, respectively.
The Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita is a marketing scheme where the produce of farmers and fisherfolk are directly linked with the public, making food commodities at reasonable prices accessible to consumers through retail stores in strategic locations.
The Kadiwa retail stores showcased highland and lowland vegetables, fruits, meat, and seafood to DA employees and visitors on 2-3 August 2022. The participating farmer-cooperatives were Bonena Multipurpose Cooperative, Damwag Farmers Association, Progressive Farmers of Zambales, Isda On the Go of the DA-Philippine Fisheries and Development Authority, and Global Essentials.
The bureau facilitated its second annual blood donation drive through the Association of Bureau of Agricultural Research Employees.
On 3 August 2022, 42 of the 68 volunteers, consisting of staff of DA-BAR and other DA offices, as well as other interested individuals, passed the screening process for eligible donors. (### Angelo N. Padura)
