Director Nicomedes P. Eleazar of the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) was Guest of Honor in the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s 1st Quarter General Membership Meeting (1Q-GMM) held at Avenue Hotel, Naga City on 27 January 2018.

In his message, he underscored the important role of research and development (R&D) in the advancement of agriculture and fisheries in the country and related how the bureau has continuously coordinated and supported research and technology development to promote both production and profitability of this important sector of the economy.

In attendance were the members of the Chamber, its associates, and other key personalities. Engr. Jaime M. Kalaw, Jr., Chairman of the 1Q-GGM gave the welcome address and acknowledged the guests and members.

The highlight of the event was the induction and oath-taking of the 2018 MNCCI Executive Officers and Board of Directors led by its incoming President, Mr. Ferdinand D. Sia.

Founded in the early 1960’s, MNCCI is an organization “committed to harnessing the strengths and potentials of the business community towards advancing the economic and social well-being of Metro Naga so that both the residents and local enterprises will prosper.” ###

Engr. Jaime M. Kalaw, Jr., Vice-President for Chamber Management and Chairman, 1st Quarter GGM, officially opens the event.
