14 December 2017

This month’s seminar featuring financing programs for farmers and fishers was held on 25 January 2018 at the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) Annex Building. Serving as the resource speakers were Ms. Emmalyn Guinto, chief of the Information Systems Management Division, Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC) and Ms. Lara Tiphanie Daquioag, program officer of the Program Management Department, Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).

Ms. Guinto discussed ACPC’s Production Loan Easy Access (PLEA) Program and Survival and Recovery (SURE) Assistance Program. On the other hand, the SURE Assistance Program is a grant and loan assistance for calamity-affected small farmers and fishers and their households.

Ms. Daquioag discussed LBP’s General Lending Guidelines for Cooperatives and their credit programs for small farmers and fishers/cooperatives. She also discussed LBP’s special credit programs in partnership with ACPC, Department of Agriculture, and Department of Agrarian Reform.
