More than 400 attendees composed of students, members of cooperatives, government employees, and private individuals joined the in-house seminar of the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) held today, 28 November 2017, at BAR. Spearheaded by the Applied Communication Division, this month’s seminar featured production technologies using hydroponics and aquaponics.

Dr. Chito F. Sace, a professor at the Central Luzon State University, served as the resource speaker of the activity. In his presentation titled, “Farming the Future through Soilless Agriculture (Hydroponics/Aquaponics),” he mentioned the importance of utilizing advanced systems such as hydroponics and aquaponics in producing more, safer, and cleaner food to meet the growing demand while preserving the environment. He also discussed the history, concepts, advantages and disadvantages, types of systems, and management related to hydroponics and aquaponics, among many others. ###

Majority of the attendees of this month’s seminar are private individuals who are interested to learn on hydroponics and aquaponics.
