IKM Mentorship Program Orientation and 1st Face-to-Face Session

The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Los Baños-College of Development Communication (UPLB-CDC), held the opening ceremony of the “Orientation and 1st Face-to-Face Session for the Information and Knowledge Management (IKM) Mentorship Program” on 12 September 2017 at SEARCA, Los Baños, Laguna.

Participating in this four-day activity are 16 representatives from the DA-Regional Field Offices (RFOs). Ms. Julia Lapitan, head of the BAR-Applied Communication Division, delivered the opening remarks, on behalf of BAR Director Nicomedes Eleazar. Also present were Asst. Prof. Elaine DC. Llarena of UPLB-CDC; and other IKM Program Mentors.

Funded by the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR), through its Scientific Publication Grant (SPG), the IKM Mentorship Program is intended to capacitate the research information officers and project staff of the Department of Agriculture (DA) who are specifically responsible in disseminating research results in agriculture and fisheries. The program covers writing and reportage techniques using different media platforms, as well as the discussion of concepts on inclusive growth and sustainable development. ###
