Last August 12 and 13, 2016, speakers from different attached DA agencies and State Universities conducted a series of seminar discussions during the 12th Agriculture and Fisheries Technology Forum and Product Exhibition (NTF) at Megatrade Hall 2, SM Megamall. This year’s lineup of seminars included topics on new and innovative food products, indigenous plants, mushroom production, farm tourism, and technology business incubation among many more.

Kapis Chips Processing and Cooking DemoDr. Lilian C. Garcia from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region 4-A came by NTF do a seminar talk promoting Kapis for progress. Garcia showed the bigger picture of the Kapis industry in the Philippines: its history, how much of the country’s resources are being harvested, as well as the challenges that the industry is facing. She also demonstrated the processing of selected Kapis products such as plates, decorative pieces, and crispy fried Kapis.
