Magsaysay Future Engineers/Technologist Award

The Magsaysay Future Engineers/Technologist aims to recognize outstanding research outputs on engineering and technology at the collegiate level and to ensure young Filipino students to pursue a career in science.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATION

    • Filipino citizen
    • Bachelor of Science with research/study/thesis on engineering sciences and technology
    • Good moral character
    • Ability to present the research/study/thesis output during the paper presentation, which will be scheduled.

Call for Nominations on Outstanding Achievements in Science and Technology

Outstanding Young Scientist

Given to young scientist (must not be 41 years old in the year of award, within January to December) who have made significant contributions to science and technolgy development in the fields of Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemical, Mathematical and Physical Sciences.

Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) Prize for Young Scientist in the Philippines

Given to an outstanding young Filipino scientist (must not be 41 years old in the year of the award, within January to December) who has made significant contributions to science and technology. For 2010, 2011, 2012 it will be for Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, respectively.

NAST Talent Search for Young Scientist

This award is a project of NAST to encourage young people to pursue a career in sience. It will be given to the best three (3) scientific paper presenters (must be 35 years old or younger in the year of the award, within January to December).

Outstanding Scientific Paper

It is given annually for papers adjudged to be outstanding in the fields of Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemical, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Technology, Health Sciences and Social Sciences. The paper should be published in Philippine scientific or technical journals within the five years preceeding the award.

Outstanding Book and/or Monograph

Given annually for books and/or monographs adjudged to be outstanding in the fields of Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemical, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Technology, Health Sciences and Social Sciences. The book and/or monograph should be published in the Philippines within the five years preceeding the award.

Pro Scientia Transformatrix Award

Given annually to extraordinary enterprise in the application of science and technology in the furtherance and support of our country's continuing bid to gain global competitiveness in all areas of practical endeavor. There is no speacial format required but strong justification and documentation with a one-hour video clip of the company and its latest activites that contribute to the global competitiveness of the country will be expected to accompany nominations.

NAST-Hugh Greenwood Environmental Science Award

Given annually to Filipino scientist who has made significant contributions to environmental protection and conservation. With the rapid pace of environmental degradation and the eventual depletion of natural resources, it is vital that the remaining resources are used wise;y and further polllution and contamination be prevented for the benefit of today's and future generations.

NAST-Leledfi Award for Outstanding Reserach in Tropical Medicine

Given annually to individuals or groups whose research work contribute to the advancement of the country's knowledge and practice in Tropical Medicine.

 

Deadline for submission of nominations is on the last working day of November each year
